Cooper Flagg and Arianna Roberson Spotted in Turks and Caicos
The NBA offseason has just started, and already its greatest player is generating headlines – this time, not for what he does on the court. Dallas Mavericks rookie phenom Cooper Flagg and Duke women’s basketball star Arianna Roberson have set the internet on fire after both were photographed enjoying a sun-soaked break in the Turks and Caicos Islands, with similar posts from the same stunning beachside locale.
The Vacation That Inspired a Thousand Tweets
The NBA Rookie of the Year and the collegiate athlete both posted photos of themselves in front of the same sign at Noah’s Ark, a beach club and nightclub in Turks and Caicos, on Friday, May 8.

In Flagg’s offseason vacation photo, the star player was on a swing in the water at the floating bar, wearing a hat, sunglasses, and flowery swim trunks. At Roberson’s, she held the swing with one hand and her sunglasses with the other, and soundtracked the post with Jhené Aiko’s “Stay Ready (What a Life).”
Flagg and Roberson were photographed from the same spot, but they have not posted pictures of each other and have not publicly commented on their supposed connection.
Who Is Arianna Roberson?
Roberson is considerably more than a familiar arm to a renowned guy. A 6-4 center from San Antonio, he played at Clark High School and helped the Cougars win the Class 6A state title in 2023. She was the state championship game MVP and the San Antonio Express-News Player of the Year in 2023.
She is from an athletic family, including her elder brother Andre Roberson, who spent seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans were eager to link the dots on social media, with one tweeting: “Isn’t that Andre Roberson’s sister?”
Roberson is in her second year at Duke and first with the women’s basketball program. She missed the 2024-25 basketball season with the Blue Devils due to injury. This past season, she averaged 8.0 points per game on 41 percent shooting in 33 games with the Blue Devils as a redshirt freshman.
Cooper Flagg’s Historic Rookie Year
The break comes on the heels of one of the most lauded rookie seasons in recent NBA memory. The 19-year-old averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals in 70 games, earning herself the league’s Rookie of the Year award.
He was the only rookie to lead his club in all four of those categories since thefts were first tracked in the 1973-74 season, joining Michael Jordan. Flagg also made history in his first NBA season, becoming the youngest player in league history to have a 50-point game.
Flagg can easily afford the tropical retreat — Flagg signed a four-year, $56.4 million rookie-scale deal with Dallas with around $26.3 million guaranteed. That sum doesn’t even factor in his NIL earnings, which have been said to be as much as over $28 million during his one year at Duke.
A Duke Connection That Brought Them Together
Not long after Flagg made the jump to the NBA, the two were sighted courtside at Cameron Indoor Stadium for a Duke men’s basketball game. In April 2026, Roberson sat with Flagg’s parents and close family members at the Mavericks news conference commemorating the 19-year-old’s NBA Rookie of the Year award, fueling speculation.
The sportsmen are Instagram friends and may have also met through their Duke ties. Flagg could have known Roberson from school, where Roberson played in 2024 and 2025.
What’s Next For The Basketball Power Couple?
While neither side has officially acknowledged the connection yet, fans seem very persuaded. Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said Flagg is the foundation of the franchise. Flagg is gearing up for his second NBA season, while Roberson is scheduled to return for her second year with the Duke women’s basketball team.
As for Dallas’ playoff hopes, the Mavericks went 26-56 and didn’t even make the play-in, but Flagg offered the crowd cause to be hopeful. The rising star seems to be taking his own advice, with a whole offseason to grow and refresh. As he told PEOPLE in December, he wants to win, but he’s also making sure to enjoy the trip.
