Who Left Strictly Tonight? Fans Stunned over Nick Knowles Elimination

The question on everyone’s mind is who left strictly tonight? The fourth week was marked by one of the celebs, Nick Knowles and Luba becoming the latest to leave Strictly Come Dancing following a tense dance-off with singer Shayne Ward.

Despite putting up a courageous effort in their Charleston routine, the judges unanimously chose to save Shayne, marking Nick’s departure in week four. Fans had mixed reactions, with some expressing their disappointment, while others felt the result was fair. Nick graciously accepted the outcome, saying, “I gave it my all, but it’s been an incredible experience.” Viewers now eagerly await the spooky Halloween week.

Nick Knowles faced a tough journey on Strictly Come Dancing this season, marked by both physical challenges and intense competition. He initially suffered in his arm and shoulder while changing the car tyre. After that, he got injured again in his knee while in training between Weeks 2 and 3 and was unable to participate in dance in week 3.  Nick was forced to take a week off from the show, a setback that disrupted his progress. He later got a green light in week 4 to perform with Luba, their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2 but probably the gap in the practice might have taken a toll on their performance.

Despite giving it his all, Nick struggled to keep up with the other contestants, ultimately landing in the bottom two and being eliminated. Reflecting on his time, Nick commented, “I’ve really, really been surprised by how much I’ve loved doing it, and by two things that happened. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner.

“The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.”

Luba added: “I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.”

Nick complimented his partner saying,  “Luba’s been amazing and just been so fabulous every day.

He added, “And I should say thank you also to all the background staff, the physios, all the people that have actually got me through this week, and to all of my fellow competitors who have been absolutely astounding, beautiful people.

“There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.”

Who was Previously Eliminated?

As of week four of Strictly Come Dancing 2024, three celebrities have been eliminated. The first to go was Olympic swimmer Tom Dean in week one, after a dance-off against Toyah Willcox. Toyah herself was eliminated the following week in a tough competition. Then, in week four, Nick Knowles faced his final bow after struggling with an injury and a challenging Charleston, which placed him in the bottom two against Shayne Ward. The judges opted to save Shayne, sealing Nick’s departure​.

In the dance-off, Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk scored  4, 6, 5, 6 – which is a total of 21 points, for their Charleston, set to “Rain on the Roof.” Unfortunately, this performance left them near the bottom of the leaderboard, while Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, who were also in the dance-off, managed to outshine them. The judges unanimously decided to save Shayne based on his stronger technical execution and performance. As a result, Nick and Luba were eliminated, despite giving their best effort​

In Week 4 of Strictly Come Dancing 2024, the competition remained fierce, with Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec topping the leaderboard with a stunning 39 points for their Charleston. They were followed by Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas, and Wynne Evans and Katya Jones, both scoring 34 points.

At the lower end of the leaderboard, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk earned just 21 points for their Charleston.

Fans were Stunned When the Elimination was Announced

Nick Knowles’ unexpected elimination from Strictly Come Dancing 2024 was met with mixed reactions from fans. While some fans took to social media in droves to express their shock and frustration, others felt the game was fair. Many felt the decision was harsh, especially given Nick’s injury struggles and the fact that he was only able to return to the competition a day before the live show.

One fan tweeted, “Such a shame for Nick. He gave his all after such a tough injury recovery,” while another posted, “I can’t believe Nick is gone after all of that.”

Some wrote on X, “I love Shayne but I think Nick should have stayed,” while another fan added “Sad to see Nick go but Shayne deserved to stay. Nick certainly didn’t have an easy time on the show.”.”

Despite all, fans rallied around Nick, with many expressing gratitude for his time on the show. He received supportive messages like, “You were an inspiration, Nick. You fought through everything with grace.”

While his exit was disappointing for many, others pointed out that this is the nature of Strictly—a competition that, at times, doesn’t always go the way fans hope​.
