Family
His father, Sam Fatu, was also a professional wrestler before he retired. The same goes for his uncles and brother. One of his uncles trained him at a young age, and this didn’t stop when he was old enough to fight. When he became old enough to fight professionally, he started as an independent fighter who participated in various promotional fights. This went on for seven years before he joined MLW, only to leave the team in 2024.
Is Jacob Single?
Jacob’s relationship status remains shrouded in mystery. However, it is widely known that he is a father of seven children.
Why Did He Choose Wrestling?
Apart from coming from a family of wrestlers, one incident cemented his desire to focus on wrestling. Jacob had a brush with the law when he was eighteen years old. It took seeing two members of his family on a TV show centered around it to change the course of his life. He became more fascinated with the life of a wrestler and resolved to have a career in that field. Moreover, no other sports interested like wrestling did.
Professional Career
Jacob As An Independent Fighter
For seven years, Jacob had been fighting without committing to any label. His first match was a team competition in 2012, and Jacob’s team won. A year later, Jacob competed in various matches in California, most times as a team with his family members. Not only that, he has travelled to Mexico to fight in a group tournament, but lost to his opponents.
Fighting in Major League Wrestling (MLW)
From 2019 to 2024, Jacob Fatu was a member of MLW. It was somewhat expected of him, as some of his family members were already with the company. He often partnered with Josef Samael to participate in group fights.
Gradually, the two fighting partners gained fame and started appearing in live matches that were broadcast in the U.S. Jacob fought fighters like LA Park, Tom Lawlor, and so on. Throughout his stay at MLW, Jacob won the World Championship under the heavyweight category twice.
Making History at MLW
Winning the championship two times in a row isn’t the only achievement Jacob Fatu has made at MLW. He was the headliner for the company’s first televised fight. He won the match that was showcased on TV.

Losing The Championship
Jacob Fatu lost the championship belt he had defended several times to Alex Hammerstone. The two had staked their previously won championship belts in the match, for the winner to take it all. Subsequently, he had more battles with Alex and two other fighters. Afterward, Jacob changed his fighting persona and adopted a new image. He again fought other wrestlers after changing his image, where he won some matches and lost some.
Japanese Tournament
Jacob teamed with Fred Rosser and Japanese wrestler, Shota Umino. The trio won against their opponents, who were also paired in a group. He was supposed to be at a Roman Reigns WWE event. Unfortunately, he couldn’t attend it due to legal technicalities between MLW and the organizers of the event.
Leaving MLW
Jacob’s uncle made a press release about Jacob leaving the MLW group in 2024. Jacob Fatu had previously fought Japanese wrestler Yuji and defeated him. A few weeks after that, he battled it out with Krugger but lost. When his uncle’s announcement came out, people speculated that Jacob was moving to WWE. They were proven right when Jacob was welcomed aboard WWE in April 2024.
WWE
Jacob is part of WWE and performs there. Before joining the franchise, he was a member of MLW, where he won two different championships. He has only been with WWE for a few months but has already made his mark. WWE signed him up for his debut match three months after he became their member.
Achievements
Jacob Fatu has won many matches since he started wrestling. This includes numerous championship belts and awards, among others.
Conclusion
In summary, Jacob’s life trajectory changed when he witnessed an inspiring moment on TV. Without that significant moment, Jacob Fatu might have been on a different path than what he is doing today. As a pro wrestler, Jacob has been (still is) an inspiration to upcoming young wrestlers. Prominent among them are young Samoan wrestlers who look up to him as their idol.
