Huawei has unveiled its newest invention, the Mate XT, a trifold smartphone priced at $2,800. This statement occurred mere hours after Apple unveiled the new iPhone 16 series.

The Mate XT, which has been in development for more than five years, has a unique design that enables it to fold three times, changing it from a smartphone to a 10-inch tablet. This cutting-edge technology seeks to create a new standard for mobile design, propelling Huawei to the forefront of the luxury smartphone industry.

The introduction ceremony in Shenzhen emphasized the Mate XT’s sophisticated features, including artificial intelligence for text translation and cloud-based content development.

The gadget comes in red and black, and storage capacities range from 19,999 yuan ($2,809) to 23,999 yuan ($3,371).

Huawei Mate XT vs. iPhone 16

Huawei planned the release of the Mate XT to happen at the same time as Apple’s iPhone 16 launch, which shows how competitive the smartphone market is.

Apple’s iPhone 16 series, which has the new A18 processor and starts at $799, also features major improvements in speed and AI capabilities.

Pre-orders have already begun, and in-store sales will begin on September 20. Huawei is positioned to make a huge impression in the market.

The company said that over 3.5 million consumers have preordered the Mate XT by Tuesday noon.

The launch represents a watershed moment for Huawei, especially in terms of its recovery from the consequences of US sanctions imposed in 2019. The Mate XT’s striking style and amazing features may help Huawei maintain its worldwide smartphone supremacy.
